Look how proud the ladies are that they are taking part in the parade. Here is what one participant said: "It is something fantastic. I have been dancing for 15 years and our group always takes part in the Song and Dance Festival. The most important part is - comfortable shoes to walk such a long distance and dance for 3 days (distance is about 3 km/2 miles). And I want our festivals to go on and on and on in the next millenium". 32 000 participants took part in the parade and all along the way they were wellcomed by the spectators (some of them had national costumes on too) with cheers and flowers. The parade took 4 hours.

A couple of days before the Festival the orchestra from the Kingdom of Denmark was playing on the Tallinn Town Hall Square. People were standing around and listening to the wonderful music, I almost started to dance myself.
You may ask a question: where are all the men? Don't worry, there were men in the parade too. :-) And they were having fun.
